Askey and Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) jointly announce the launch of the “5G Private Network Backpack” solution on September 9th. It was firstly conceived by CHT, and selected Askey products as the best match among many Netcom players in Taiwan, successfully realizing this innovative idea. In this solution, Askey provides an all-in-one 5G Sub-6GHz small cell with built-in 5G baseband, radio and antenna, pairing up with 5G core network and satellite transmission equipment to realize a portable 5G network that can be connected anytime, anywhere. As the leader of Taiwan's telecommunications industry, CHT continues to promote the development of the 5G industry and looks forward to stepping in the global market.
Miniaturization and High Performance: “5G Private Network Backpack” Leads to New Smart Scenario Applications
The “5G Private Network Backpack” solution integrates the core network, base station and application services of 5G private networks into the size of a backpack, which can be carried by a single person whenever to provide high coverage 5G private network services. This innovative design is particularly suitable for applications that require high mobility and real-time connectivity, such as disaster relief, military communications and mobile broadcasting. Even in the event of a landline or mobile network outage, the solution can quickly establish internal and external communication links to ensure stable data and voice transmission.
Askey all-in-one 5G small cell greatly enhances the application scope of the solution. When a disaster happens, it helps quickly establish a temporary mobile network to provide voice and data services for the disaster responders, and supports real-time video, drone aerial photography and 3D scanning and modeling, which significantly improves the efficiency of disaster relief. Meanwhile, in military applications, the “5G Private Network Backpack” provides real-time communication support in the event of troop movement or wartime commercial network outages, connecting troops to the command center via satellite transmission to ensure that commanders quickly grasp the battle situation. For 5G applications that require mobility, such as mobile production and broadcasting, intelligent inspection, unmanned robotics, autonomous mobile robots and AR/VR shows, this solution is rapidly deployed to expand the application domains and breaks through the limitations of wired networks.
